Where do bed bugs hide?

Pictures of Bed Bug Infestations
Bed bugs only come out at night, when they get hungry, and they zero in on you each night because, typically, they are hiding somewhere within a 10 to 15 foot radius of where you and your family sleep.
This means, when you look around your bedroom, those bed bug bites are coming from bed bugs somewhere nearby.
The typical hiding places for bed bugs start with your mattress.
Bugs hide:
- in the seams of your mattress.
- between the mattress and box springs.
- in the box springs – they especially like the corners and the airy fabric on the bottom of most box springs.
- behind your headboard
- in your nightstand in and under and behind the drawers and on the bottom
- same with your dresser and dresser drawers
- in/under your carpet
- behind wall plugs and switch plates
- in the ceiling light fixtures
- along baseboards
- behind pictures and sometimes in picture frames behind the picture mat
- inside your walls
and anything within 10 feet of your bed that provides a safe, dark space for them to lay their eggs and hide during the day.
We have a video from National Geographic in our video section that shows bed bugs crawling out of a wall from behind an electrical outlet. They only need a very small crack to hide in.
